May 5, 2009 — When Jason Aldean performed "She's Country" on the Country Music Association Awards last year, he left some observers scratching their heads over the song's hard-rock chords which push the defining boundaries of the genre.
Despite others' reservations, Jason proved he knew what he was doing, landing at No. 1 last week on the national country charts.
"We all try to figure out what's going to be a hit," Jason told The Tennessean. "We have no idea. We put it out there and hope for the best, and luckily we hit a home run with this one. It's been a while since I had a No. 1. I don't even know how to celebrate one of these things anymore. "
Jason has plenty more to celebrate. He's earned a gold single for "She's Country," and he's opening for Keith Urban in July during the Escape Together World Tour. In the meantime, Jason has a run of dates at20auditoriums and county fairs around the U.S., including an appearance June 12 at the CMA Music Festival in Nashville.
