May 22, 2009 — Trace Adkins views his performance of "'Til The Last Shot's Fired" as one of the high points of his recording career, and it's a big part of his plans this weekend as he sings it in a Memorial Day concert and has pegged sales of a recent performance for the Wounded Warrior Project.
"Last Shot" pays homage to American soldiers from the Civil War, World War II, Vietnam and the war in Afghanistan, and Trace is set to deliver a version of it during the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C., on Sunday.
Trace's rendition of "Last Shot" during April's "44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards", featuring the West Point Glee Club, is20currently available for download via iTunes, with proceeds slated to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
He's not the only country star contributing to the organization. Montgomery Gentry has a 12-track album, For Our Heroes, available at Cracker Barrel stores beginning Monday to raise money for Wounded Warrior.
