Jason Michael Carroll Considers "Growing Up"

May 14, 2009 — Jason Michael Carroll titled his latest album Growing Up Is Getting Old, and as a result, he's been thinking quite a bit about the aging process.
He turns 31 next month, and with the birthday around the corner, he's a little surprised that he doesn't feel much different than he did in his teens.
"Honestly," he says, "I don't think I've aged much. I still get carded when I ask for beer at a bar. And I think that's part of growin' up, you know, is you don't realize that what people see is not who you are. You are the person that was havin' fun when you were 18. You are that person still. It didn't change. Your lifestyle may have changed, but deep down, you're still that person."
That's the theme of his current hit, "Where I'm From," which ranks at No. 14 on the USA Today Mediabase country singles chart.
Jason will observe his birthday June 13 with a performance at Nashville's Riverfron t Park during the annual CMA Music Festival. Others on the bill that day will be Bill Anderson, Keith Anderson, Tracy Byrd, Emerson Drive, Lost Trailers, Jo Dee Messina, Lorrie Morgan and Chris Young.
