Jimmy Wayne Gets Trapped

May 12, 2009 — Tour buses are designed to deliver country stars from one venue to another, but Jimmy Wayne discovered last week that a bus also has the potential to keep him away from the stage.
At a May 7 show in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., the lock on the bus door jammed while Jimmy was still inside, and he was unable to open the door when it was time for him to head to the stage. Not that Jimmy was going to let that stop him from doing his job. He crawled out a window at the back of the bus and made his way to the stage, and the whole escape was captured by his band on camera and posted to YouTube.
"It was just freakin' hysterical," Jimmy says. "The band and crew were on the ground laughing, and the guys with the radio station (WYZB in Fort Walton) saw the whole thing and reported it to the audience. And to top it all off, I looked and felt like a roasted pepper, having spent way too mu ch time in the sun earlier that day. So climbing out the window did sting a bit! But hey, the show must go on!"
The show goes on in a big way for Jimmy next month when he joins Dierks Bentley as the opening acts for Brad Paisley's
American Saturday Night Tour. The run begins June 5 in Charlotte, N.C.
