Keith Urban Lobs "Left-Handed" Compliment

April 21, 2009 — Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are among the top guitarists working in country music, and the stars aligned for them earlier this month when they shared an Academy of Country Music Award for their collaboration on "Start A Band."
The two trade riffs and play some dual guitar parts on the single, which was pulled from Brad's guitar album Play. While he's certainly a master of the instrument, Keith remains in awe of Brad's guitar skills.
"I can't play anything he plays 'cause it's from another planet," Keith told Suzanne Alexander on the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "It's literally like another language. I have really no comprehension how he approaches it — it's almost like watching a left-handed guitarist for me. It's a whole 'nother thing. It's fascinating to me."
Keith has another of country's greatest guitarists, Glen Campbell, opening a Las Vegas date during his upcoming Es cape Together World Tour. Brad collaborated a few other country guitar greats — including Vince Gill and Steve Wariner, among them — on the Play project. Steve in turn pays homage to yet another guitar legend with his June 23 release, My Tribute To Chet Atkins.
