June 5, 2009 — A year ago this week, Lady Antebellum released its sophomore single, "Lookin' For A Good Time," to radio stations. As the trio cruises into the summer tour season, it's in the middle of work on its sophomore album.
"We're almost halfway done with the second record," Dave Haywood told The Bavaria Daily News. "We've started that process, and you know, one thing that's never stopped between the three of us is the songwriting. So we've got tons of new songs that we're always kind of ready to get out there. We just figured we'd go ahead and get in the studio and cut six or seven songs and kinda see where we stand after that. Not sure when we'll need it or when we'll put anything out, but just want to have it just in case."
While most artists have trouble writing in the midst of the uncertainties that accompany a tour, Lady A is just fine developing songs on the road, which 0Amakes this weekend a good time to churn out some new material. They play Pittsburgh's Heinz Field Saturday on the Sun City Carnival Tour with headliner Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Montgomery Gentry and Miranda Lambert.
