June 3, 2009 — Brad Paisley's about to launch his American Saturday Night Tour, and he almost got the starting date right.
Brad kicks it off not on a Saturday night, but on Friday, when he's joined by Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne in Charlotte, N.C. Picking the wrong day of the week might be weirdly symbolic, since Brad plans to bring the right energy to the show no matter when it comes to town.
"There's something special about a Saturday," he says. "That is, you didn't have to work. You don't have to work the next day, you're getting over whatever happened at work or whatever happened in your week, and hopefully you're taking a little break from reality. And any time we fire up this show — whether it's a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday — it's going to be officially Saturday night when we start. And it's not 'not Saturday night' until you leave."
Brad makes h is appearance at the CMA Music Festival on a Thursday night. He's on the opening-night bill June 12 at Nashville's LP Field, where the lineup also features Brooks & Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Reba McEntire, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and Julianne Hough.
