May 4, 2009 — Keith Urban's much-publicized Escape Together World Tour kicks off Thursday in Connecticut, and the rehearsals came to a conclusion last week at the Sommet Center in Nashville.
In the past, Keith's made a habit of wading out into the audience to play extended guitar solos among the people, and he'll be doing that this time around, too.
"We built a stage specifically for this tour," he says. "The actual physical stage we are performing on is designed to get me into the audience as easily as possible. I have a tendency to want to jump right into the audience and be part of them, and the way we've designed the stage makes that much easier for me."
Keith trots out an impressive, revolving lineup of opening acts during the run. Among the lead-in performers are Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean.
