May 7, 2009 — In May a year ago, Darius Rucker released his first country single, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," and he's gone through an enormous career resurrection during the year that's transpired since.
He's now racked up two No. 1 country singles, he's picked up a gold album, and he's set to open for George Strait beginning June 5 after completing a tour leg with Brad Paisley. Darius will get to do some audience building on the Rascal Flatts tour, and he'll likely firm up his personal relationship with the members of Flatts, too.
"It's fitting that I'm going with those guys, because we're so much alike," Darius told national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "We're gonna play golf every day and drink some beers and have some good times and play some music and play some practical jokes on each other. It's gonna be a good time, and it's one of those things where a lot of opportunities came up for me to tour this year, and when the Rascal Flatts one came up, I was very excited because I knew that not only was it gonna be a great show, but it was gonna be a lot of fun."
The American Living Unstoppable Tour begins June 5 in St. Louis with at least two stadium shows scheduled, including a July 18 stadium date at the Chicago Cubs' ballpark, Wrigley Field.
