May 1, 2009 — Brad Paisley is a triple threat — an ace singer, songwriter and guitar player. Good things also came in three a few weeks ago when he took a trio of trophies at the Academy of Country Music Awards, including Vocal Event of the Year for "Start A Band," shared with Keith Urban.
Keith is just as multi-talented, and Brad was particularly pleased to share the trophy with a fellow guitar nut.
"With the Vocal Event, I was so proud of that," Brad told Suzanne Alexander on the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "I'm so proud of Keith and what we accomplished together. And I think you saw a side of each of us that you never see, which is the two-geeks-in-a-guitar-store side of us. The two guys willing to let down all guard, forget about everything and just play and have a ball — and that was the case with the video and with the track on that. And so those two things, I love it anytime there's some sort of collaboration and you're involved with wonderful, high-class people like this."
Both musicians have major tours on the docket. Keith Urban kicks off the Escape Together World Tour on Thursday with a large collection of opening acts, including Sugarland, Taylor Swift and guitarist Glen Campbell. Brad hits the road with Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne June 5 for the American Saturday Night Tour.
