March 13, 2009 — By the time Kenny Chesney finishes this year's Sun City Carnival Tour, it will have been a whopping nine years since he put out his first greatest-hits collection.
In the meantime, a second one is one the way. Greatest Hits: Vol. 2 is slated to hit stores May 19. It will feature a dozen hit singles, plus a collaboration with Dave Matthews, a track off of Songs From An Old Blue Chair and "Out Last Night," a song Kenny recently wrote with Brett James. Kenny played the latter song in a four-hour surprise club date in Nashville earlier this week.
How long is the nine-year interim between best-of packages? Long enough that not all the radio favorites will find their way into the set.
"There has been so many memories, so much magic, so much great music," Kenny says. "It all just keeps happening and you're loving every moment of it, and not keeping score. When=2 0I realized all the songs that weren't gonna make it that were hits, that's when it hit me how much music me and the guys have made since the first Greatest Hits."
The track list includes:
• "When The Sun Goes Down" (with Uncle Kracker)
• "Down The Road" (with Mac McAnally)
• "Living In Fast Forward"
• "Young"
• "Summertime"
• "Beer In Mexico"
• "There Goes My Life"
• "Anything But Mine"
• "I Go Back"
• "Never Wanted Nothing More"
• "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problems"
• "The Good Stuff"
• "Be As You Are"
• "I'm Alive" (with Dave Matthews)
• "Out Last Night"
