A copyright infringement case against Phil Vassar and Craig Wiseman was dismissed last week by a Federal District Court Judge who has claimed no need for a trial. The lawsuit was filed in September 2007 by songwriters Dave Brainard, Dustin Evans and Tim Matthews, who cited copyright infringement and unfair competition claims regarding the song, "Good Ole Days." Vassar released the song as a single in 2005. He and Wiseman's other writing credits include "Another Day in Paradise" and "In a Real Love," which were both No. 1 country hits for Vassar.
