March 11, 2009 — Keith Urban is holding steady at No. 1 in both Billboard and Country Aircheck with "Sweet Thing," a song that represents a bit of sweet revenge against a prognosticator that missed the mark.
Not that there's any scientific basis in the process he used to determine the song's future, but Keith was looking for a prediction when he visited the home of some friends a few months ago.
"In their living room, on the shelf, they have one of those Magic 8 Balls," Keith told Dial-Global. "And so I secretly went over and shook it up and asked it if 'Sweet Thing' might be a No. 1 song. It said, 'Absolutely not.' So for the last handful of weeks, I've been thinking that dreaded 8 Ball has thwarted everything, and it was completely wrong. So I'm happy that the song went No. 1, but I'm more happy that the 8 Ball is absolutely full of it!"
With "Sweet Thing" riding high, Keith released the follow-up single, "Kiss A Girl," to radio on Monday. The full album, Defying Gravity, will be in stores March 31. To see a special version of "Sweet Thing" on GACTV.com, click here!
